The Andover Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC) is a group of parents working together to promote the understanding, respect,
support, and appropriate education for all children with special needs in our community. To this end, we have worked to provide education
and resources to parents and families to help them support and educate their children within the Andover Public School System. This work
has resulted in the following resources and opportunities for staff, families, and children:
- Parent special education liaisons in each building to guide families as they navigate the special education system.
- An annual newsletter highlighting the upcoming workshops, parent liaisons, website and resources available in the town.
- Monthly educational workshops for parents and educators to learn about special education topics of interest.
- Monthly parent information networking group, facilitated by a school social worker, to provide resources and support to parents.
- Annual Mary French Awards night to recognize educators who have had a significant impact in the lives of special
education students and families in Andover.
There is much work to be done and value in what we do, but WE NEED YOUR HELP to continue this mission. If you have benefitted in some way
from the work we do, believe in the mission we have set forth, and would consider giving a little time and energy to this cause, we would
love your input and active participation as we move forward in our planning for the next school year. We could use help in any and all of
the following areas:
- Newsletter Preparation and Distribution
- Brochure Preparation and Distribution
- Building Liaisons
- Educational Workshop Coordinators
- Mary French Award Committee, Coordination
- Board Members: All Positions are Open Each Year
Please email Cyndi Webber at webberbc@comcast.net and let us know what you are interested in helping out with or participating in. Many hands make light work and we appreciate any help you can give to SEPAC at this time!
